Two children are taken away from their mother in Mijas for being in a vulnerable situation

  • They are 2 and 14 years old and were often left alone in a house in an alarmingly unhealthy state

The Local Police together with the departments for Social Inclusion and Health of Mijas Town Hall and the Junta proceeded to take away the minors on June 20th

The Local Police together with the departments for Social Inclusion and Health of Mijas Town Hall and the National Police unit attached to the Autonomous Community of Andalusia proceeded, on the 20th of June, to the removal of two minors for living in a situation of unprotected care.

This action was carried out at the request of a care team from the municipal Social Inclusion services after receiving a notification alerting them about the circumstances in which a 2 year old girl and her 14 year old brother were living. Both used to be alone and in an unhealthy situation in the house, which was verified after visiting the home, located in the area of El Albero (Las Lagunas).

The municipal technicians were able to contact the mother, who came to the house, facilitating access to the home and allowing the agents to verify the lack of hygiene in which the children were living. In view of these circumstances, the minors were taken away and placed under the guardianship of the Junta de Andalucía.
