The beauty pageant Miss and Mister Province of Malaga already has representatives from Mijas. The 16 and 17 year olds Brenda Pérez and Enzo Ruefli Peinado are looking to make a name for themselves in the world of fashion and modelling. This contest is one of the oldest on the Costa del Sol as it has been officially held since 1933. More than 1,000 candidates from all over the province of Malaga have applied for the contest, although in the end 70 candidates will be chosen to continue.
According to Brenda, "I signed up because it has been my dream since I was a little girl, I loved modelling. I always took clothes and shoes from my mother's wardrobe. It's a dream for me to walk down a catwalk in front of the whole world". For his part, Enzo Ruefli Peinado, candidate for the Mister, showed his enthusiasm to participate. "I'm a good friend of Brenda's and she told me about the contest. We signed up together and we were very excited. When they called her I thought I wasn't in, but a few hours later they confirmed that I was going to participate. It was very exciting".
The young participants, want to dedicate themselves to the world of fashion and modelling, and they use this contest as a platform to introduce themselves in this world. Brenda said she was "very nervous when I went to the contest. There were a lot of participants but in the end everything turned out very well, I was very impressed". Enzo told us that he is registered in several fashion agencies and that he would like to have the opportunity to have more visibility "so that more people know about me and so that different agencies can get to know my profile so I can work in advertising and fashion".

They now start a process involving several tests, rounds and visits to make themselves known. The final will take place in Riogordo on August 31st in a final gala. To win the title they need to have a lot of 'likes' on the contest's official page, so they invite everyone to support their dream. Brenda invited all Mijeños "to support us and vote for us on social media, because we want to represent this wonderful town". Enzo also asked for the vote for Mijas. "That they vote for us and that we get a lot of 'likes'. I want to represent my town, where I grew up because I love it and I have lived very well and very comfortable here. This is my village and the one I want to represent".
The winners will represent Malaga in the national Miss and Mister RNB Spain 2025 contests and in other international events.
