Solidarity Sunday for our friends the cats. The Mijas Felina Association held on May 19th a day to raise funds through activities, a street market and delicious food. The event took place in the morning at Branch Office square in La Cala
Mijas Felina defends the feral cat, controlling the street colonies is one of their most important activities. They work without shelter or subsidies, which is why they have to dedicate fundraising days, such as the one they organised on Sunday in La Cala de Mijas. "The aim is to raise money for the association because we have a lot of clinical and veterinary cases to deal with. The colony feeders can't afford it because it's a lot of money and we can always use some financial help", said Cristina Sánchez, president of Mijas Felina.
Mijas Felina would like to thank the Foreigners Department for their help in setting up the market and information tables. Clothes and costume jewellery were some of the products on offer on Sunday. "Despite the strong wind that we have today, which does not help much, we are happy that people collaborate’" said Alina Bertol, member of Mijas Felina, who also took the opportunity to encourage citizens to adopt kittens, "to look for us on Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok for any questions". According to Alina, cat adoptions have increased considerably compared to last year, a triumph of which the group is proud.
