The electoral roll of Mijas for the European Parliament Elections is 50.278 voters, of which 49.215 are Spanish and 1.063 are foreigners

On Tuesday, at 9:00 a.m., the drawing of lots for the members of the polling stations for the European Parliament Elections took place in Mijas Town Hall. The electoral map of the municipality is made up of 37 sections, 17 polling stations and 69 polling stations. The electoral roll of Mijas for this process is 50,278 voters, of which 49,215 are Spanish and 1,063 are foreigners.

The president and the members of each polling station have been designated by public draw from the list of voters of the corresponding polling station, and in the next few days, according to the municipal technicians, the ones selected will receive notification.

Among the requirements, it is established that the members of these polling stations must be able to read and write and be under 70 years of age, although those over 65 years of age may resign within a period of seven days at the Marbella Area Electoral Board. The president must have a Bachiller's degree or second level Vocational Training or equivalent or higher qualifications or, alternatively, a School Graduate or equivalent.

As in other electoral processes, the election of the members has been carried out by an electronic procedure supported by the headquarters of the Electoral Census Office.

  • Como en otros procesos electorales, la elección de los miembros se ha realizado por un procedimiento electrónico soportado por la sede de la Oficina del Censo Electoral.

As in other electoral processes in this Town Council, the election of the members was carried out by an electronic procedure supported by the Electoral Census Office, called IDA-Celec, which guarantees the total transparency of the process, leaving the election of the members of the polling station to chance, without human intervention.

As soon as the draw, which was very brief, was over, the sheets were printed on an official model, recognised by the Electoral Board of the Marbella Zone, for each of the polling stations, with the nominal list of all the persons elected as members of the polling stations for each one of them. These have been presented in real time to the members of the Local Government Board, chaired by the Mayoress, Ana Mata (PP), who have witnessed the draw,
