Miramar San Francisco de Asís Mijas achieved on Sunday the promotion to the silver division of Spanish handball. They are back at the top after facing the Agustinos de Alicante club in the final.

Until the end of the match both teams were fighting for the victory. It seemed that the white team from Alicante would be promoted to the silver category, however, the Mijas team, who never gave up, managed to come back and win the match during the added time. 

Laura Plaza, coach of Club Miramar San Francisco de Asís Mijas, explained that "after a very hard season, with a lot of hard work, they have finally been able to put the icing on the cake by moving up to the silver division, which was what they wanted since the beginning of the season".

The public and the town hall showed their support for the Mijas team during the day. As the mayoress said, "it has been one of the best games, we have been on the edge of your seat until the end".

For her part, the president of the Miramar San Francisco de Asis club, Maribel Cuevas, said that she had confidence in her team from the beginning. The councillor for sports, Mari Francis Alarcón, who presented one of the trophies claimed that Mijas was celebrating.
