La Zambra wins a key from the prestigious Michelin guide

Only 5.000 properties worldwide and 4 on the Costa del Sol have this certification from this international reference guide

On Monday 29th of April, the tourist guide published the list of the 97 Spanish hotels with this certification, which was a pleasant surprise for the management of La Zambra, as its general director Joost Kruissen pointed out. “We are very proud to be included in this internationally recognised guide, it is a certification that makes a difference and it is a prize that makes both Mijas and La Zambra more internationally recognised”, said Kruissen, who added that “ more people than we think look at the Michelin Guide before making a decision, not only regarding gastronomy, but also regarding the hotel experience”. Our country has 5 hotels with 3 Keys; 12, with 2; and 80, with one.

Based on the number of Keys awarded, the Michelin Guide classifies them as ‘Unique stay (3 Keys), ‘Exceptional stay’ (2 Keys), and ‘Very special stay’ (1 Key). “At La Zambra we have always tried to do something different to what the others do, in terms of offering an authentic Andalusian experience in a very exclusive place, where human quality stands out and I believe that this combination of values is what has led us to obtain this award”, emphasised the general manager of La Zambra, who highlighted the services and the experience offered by this five-star luxury hotel with 196 rooms. “We are in Mijas, very close to Malaga and Marbella, we are in an exclusive location, but very close to everything, with the full service of a resort, including a large spa, four restaurants, two golf courses, swimming pools, among others, this means that the client can disconnect here without needing to go out”.

The objective now for La Zambra is to maintain this Key and to continue working to obtain a second one, as the general manager explained: “Although we are celebrating this Key, this also implies pressure, now we have to maintain the quality of the services, the destination, the product, fight for it, maintain it, but the idea is always to improve and hopefully we can obtain a second Key, although with one we are more than happy”.
