The councillor for Digital Modernisation, Juan José Torres Trella (PP), reminded last Tuesday 30th the different options offered by the Town Hall so that taxpayers can pay their municipal taxes, in case they do not have their receipts paid by direct debit at the bank.
The first way to pay taxes is to do it in person at the Citizen Attention Department of the Mijas Town Hall and at the Branch Offices in Las Lagunas and La Cala. There is also the possibility of paying through the electronic office of the municipal website www.mijas.es, which can only be done with a digital certificate or electronic ID card. The third way is through the pagosexpress.mijas.es platform which, Trella pointed out, "is once again available on the municipal website to facilitate the payment of taxes for all citizens".
In this regard, the councillor explained that on this platform "you don't need a digital certificate, all you have to do is enter your name and ID number, then you can access a list of all the receipts you have pending with the council. Click any of them and you will have two payment options: with the credit card directly on the Unicaja platform, and the other way is by generating a barcode that must then be taken to a cash machine at any bank to make the payment".
Taxes by direct debit
The councillor also recalled that next Monday, 6th of May, the first remittance for road tax (Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax) receipts will be sent to those taxpayers who have their payments paid by direct debit, "which is better for any citizen, because you get a 5 percent discount on all receipts, without forgetting that the management carried out by the Town Hall will be much quicker and simpler".
By paying your taxes, explains the Mijas Town Hall, you are helping to improve schools, social services, security, cleaning and many other services in the municipality.
