At ten o'clock on Friday morning, the Mijas Fire Brigade, through a call from 112 and the Local Police, received an emergency warning of a burning vehicle in Calle Naranjo, in the area of El Lagarejo (Las Lagunas). Immediately, a team of five officers went to the scene and found the three cars already on fire. The wind caused the fire to spread rapidly, burning the cars. According to the Fire Fighting Service, the fire originated in one of the vehicles and, according to its owner, was apparently due to a mechanical failure.
