The PopAcademia Fama held its solidarity show 'Viva la vida' (Long Live Life) this Sunday. It is a charity initiative that they defined as full of joy, light, happiness and celebration in which around 80 dancers from the school took part. They brought all their talent to the stage to perform this dance and aerial acrobatics spectacle, which the academy's director, Manuela Veronese, described as "something never seen before". "I put many girls on the silks at the same time, they do duets, solos, groups of four and there are different levels. There are also girls who show joy", as the title of the show says, added Veronese.
The show also featured guest artists such as Olympia Hidalgo, a Veronese's student who is currently training outside the province. "I have been dancing with Manuela since I was three and I am now 21 years old. The theatre is like my home, it's where I've performed most times in my life and with Manuela you learn everything, fabrics, hoops, pointe, ballet, contemporary...", explained the young woman.
This is a show with a lot of sensitivity, and the funds raised are already earmarked for a specific purpose. The Fuensocial association will use it to help its users. "We are very grateful because this initiative is wonderful. From the first day that Manuela mentioned the project we supported the idea. Associations are always struggling financially and we are very grateful for this show full of life," said Daniel Vallecillo, president of Fuensocial, an organisation with 40 years of history with users in Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Mijas, a municipality where they attend to 180 people. "We are one of the associations that covers the life cycle of people with functional diversity, from children aged 0 to a lady aged 80", added the head of Fuensocial, which will use the proceeds to care for its users.
