During the early hours of Saturday 9th to Sunday 10th of March, at around four o'clock in the morning, a vehicle in which three people were travelling hit an ornamental stone tower located in Camino de Coín, at kilometre 10, in the area surrounding Mijas Golf. According to the information received by the emergency service 112 and the Mijas Local Police, after receiving the alert, the Mijas Fire Brigade and medical services were mobilised. After arriving at the scene they found the vehicle in collision and an injured male inside who had to be released, while the rest of the occupants had left the scene. Minutes later, a Local Police support unit in the area located two individuals who had fled the scene with serious injuries, as the vehicle had allegedly been stolen earlier. The three involved were taken to the Costa del Sol Hospital where they were taken into custody for alleged theft of the vehicle in which they had crashed.
