More than 200 judokas from the Escuela Municipal de Judo de Mijas, the federated team of the Club Polideportivo Mijas and invited clubs from the province gathered on a rainy Saturday morning in the central court of the Ciudad Deportiva Regino Hernández.  The athletes fulfilled their expectations when it came to scoring points for the municipal sports awards ceremony taking place next May.

This type of competition allows novice judokas to have their first sporting experience, with judges, in front of the public, and against rivals who are not from their own training school.

It is also part of the training having to face the best federates of the Club Polideportivo, some of them, such as Arístides Delgado, opt for the Andalusian Championship as a way to reach the national championship.  "We are very happy with our students, they improve every day and both, those who are new to this type of competition and those who have experience, have a good time, enjoy themselves and improve their conditions," said Rafael Nuñez, coach of the Municipal School.  The Councillor for Sports, Mari Francis Alarcón (PP), pointed out that "it is a very interesting day because it brings together judokas from Mijas with others who come from various clubs in Malaga, and it becomes a day of coexistence.  In addition, the families can see the progress of the athletes".  The third and final day will take place in May.
