The councillor for Festivities, Silvia Marín (PP), has announced the dates for the Mijas Carnival 2024. The festivity, traditional in our town and much awaited by families, will take place from the 23rd to the 25th of February. The councillor has invited all Mijas residents to join this event: "let them take part, bring out their costumes, it's all about having a good time".
She also pointed out that the parades will be made up of "several floats and entertainment groups, which will join us on the different routes of each town", and added that "we invite all neighbours to join in the parades”.
Furthermore, the Mijas Carnival will have fancy dress parades, open to all families who want to participate, divided into two categories: children and adults. There will be prizes for individuals and groups. The jury will take into account originality, creativity, charm and staging, among other aspects.
The councillor also reminded those interested in taking part in the fancy dress parade that they can register one hour before the departure of each procession.
Finally, she pointed out that in the following parks: La Butibamba (La Cala de Mijas) and Andalucía (Las Lagunas) as well as in the Plaza Virgen de la Peña (Mijas Pueblo), bouncy castles and fun workshops will be set up for children's entertainment.
