Cudeca needs more donations to maintain its second home care unit

  • The organisation will have to use its reserves and create new funding options to keep it active
  • The NGO has raised 129,000 euros, although it needs 250,000 euros to achieve its goal
  • Tienda benéfica de Cudeca en La Cala donde se puede colaborar donando y comprando artículos.

Although the ‘Movimiento Girasol’ (Sunflower Movement) fundraising campaign has ended, the channels for donations remain open

Cuceca was about 120,000 euros short of reaching the target established for its Sunflower Movement campaign. The NGO needed to raise 250,000 euros to continue financing its two home care units, but with the funds raised it can only maintain one. Cudeca, which offers palliative care to people with cancer and other advanced illnesses, will now have to look for other funding options in order to maintain its second team, which consists of a doctor, a nurse and a vehicle.

After three months of campaigning, it has raised 129,323 euros through donations from public institutions, organisations, members and individual donors, to whom the NGO is grateful. These funds will enable a team to attend to about 200 people in their homes and offer support and help to carers, estimated at 400 people. Mijas is one of the town halls helping the foundation to continue its work.

Although the ‘Movimiento Girasol’ (Sunflower Movement) fundraising campaign has ended, Cudeca is keeping different channels open to continue raising funds:

- Website: www.movimientogirasol.org.

- Bank transfer ES11 2100 9032 3722 0010 8366.

- Bizum 07761.

Cudeca recalls the significant growth in the number of patients over the last ten years, hence the need to maintain and even increase the number of home care units.
