The Mijas Town Hall, through the Area for Seniors, is organising a Carnival dance. It will take place on Thursday 22nd of February at Cortijo Don Elías. As reported by the councillor for the Seniors’ Department, Silvia Marín (PP), it is "a big fancy dress party that will begin at 17.00 hours and will last until 20.00 hours. Attendees will enjoy this free activity in which fun will be guaranteed through animation, music and dancing".
In addition, there will be prizes for three categories: best individual costume, best couples costume and best creative costume. "I invite all of our seniors to come dressed in costume because we will reward the funniest and most original ones. In addition, the party will feature a very emotional performance, the students of the Active Ageing Workshop have prepared their own ‘comparsa’ and will make their debut that day", explained Marín.
In order to facilitate the transfer to Cortijo Don Elías, the Mijas Town Hall has arranged buses that will leave from both Mijas Pueblo and La Cala. In order to make use of this transport service it is essential to register in advance at the different Seniors’ Offices, as seats are limited. Both buses will leave at 16:30 hours from the Plaza Virgen de la Peña (Mijas Village) and the fairground (La Cala) and will return at approximately 20:30 hours.
