Here is the story of a courageous grandmother who has launched a crowdfunding campaign to try to save her grandson Robin. The little boy has been in hospital since he was born two years ago with a high-risk cancer. What grandparents or parents in the same circumstances would not jump in and ask for help?. The boy suffers from neuroblastoma, the treatment of which costs 573,000 euros.
"It is a very rare type of cancer, in Spain only 50 children a year are born with this type of tumour. They are born without cells to fight the cancer itself, so they have tried in England and here to raise money to pay for the treatment; the child has received half of the treatment and they need more money to finish", says Susan Parfit, a friend of the family.
The desperate family has launched a crowdfunding campaign in both England and Spain to try to raise the money for Robin's immunotherapy.
If they raise the money, 90,000 euros a month for six months, Robin would have the chance to live a normal life. Despite knowing nothing but hospitals, the boy doesn't stop smiling in an attempt to take the sadness and emotional stress away from his parents.
"He is a very happy boy who only knows the hospital, he is always smiling and in Barcelona he is learning Spanish too", says Parfit.
In order to help Robin and for the story to end well, there is no other way than through the website. 'Help baby Robin survive cancer', a campaign that his grandmother launched on November 19th last year and where they urgently ask for help for their little boy.
