Complete renovation of the 29 rubbish bins in the bus shelters along the A7, in both directions, as it passes through Mijas. This is the work being carried out by the government team, through the Department for Operational Services. In addition to replacing the old and deteriorated model with more modern ones, other bins are also going to be placed where there were none, "At some stops there were bins which were obsolete, bag bins, and every time it was windy or stormy all the rubbish ended up outside, having to do extra cleaning and now we are changing them for the latest generation, letterbox type bins", declared the councillor for Operational Services, Daniel Gómez Teruel (PP), who assured that this work will be completed this week.
In this way the government team is also meeting a demand from residents who use public transport on a daily basis. "We had requests from residents at some points and so that everyone has the same rights, we are going to put rubbish bins at all the stops, both those in the urbanisations and those that run through the town centre until they reach the border with Fuengirola", said the councillor.
Teruel also urged residents to make responsible use of these bins and take care of their environment. "If we are all capable of having a clean municipality we will feel proud and all the actions that are taken will bear fruit, so we ask people to be aware, because sometimes we see that the bins are empty and the perimeter is dirty and we all have to collaborate".
Finally, the Town Hall indicates that the bags will be changed and the bins cleaned on a daily basis in order to avoid the accumulation of rubbish.
