From February 14th all DTT channels will only broadcast in high definition

  • TV sets that are not compatible with the HD signal, something that could happen with the oldest ones, will be able to adapt with a decoder
  • A partir de ahora, todas las televisiones deberán estar preparadas para recibir la señal en HD.

Mijas 3.40 TV has been broadcasting in HD for a few years now

An important change in DTT in Spain will affect all households. On the 14th of February, the television signal will no longer be broadcast in standard definition, known as SD, but only in high definition, HD. This means that all televisions will have to be ready to receive the HD signal, which means improved quality of image and sound.

We will have to check our TV to make sure that it does receive the HD signal, as older receivers are not prepared for this. If they do not receive it, the solution may be to buy an HD DTT decoder, which is incorporated between the antenna and the television, or to buy a more modern television.

Don't forget to check the devices you have at home before the 14th of February so as not to suffer a blackout in the broadcasting. In the case of Mijas 3.40 TV, we have been broadcasting exclusively in HD for years.
