If you are newly self-employed in Andalusia, you may be interested in these lines of aid

  • Quota Zero: you can now apply for the refund of the so-called Flat Rate
  • Entrepreneurs starting up a new business can obtain a direct subsidy

If you are newly self-employed in Andalusia or are thinking of becoming one, you should know that you can benefit from a series of aids since January 1st

If you are newly self-employed in Andalusia or you are thinking of becoming one, you should know that you can benefit from a series of aids since January 1st. We are referring to the subsidies for the promotion of self-employment in Andalusia, the purpose of which, as the Regional Ministry of Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment of the Regional Government points out, is to reduce the financial burden of Social Security contributions for self-employed or freelance workers in the initial stages of their activity, as well as to support the stabilisation and strengthening of entrepreneurial initiatives in self-employment.

Zero quota

The Regional Government has promoted two lines of subsidies. The first, called Zero Quota, has as its main requirement to have enjoyed the Flat Rate during 2023 and what is obtained is the reimbursement of the fees paid during that period. "Anyone who registered in January 2023 has already completed the year, so they can ask for a refund of these fees. The amount that is paid back is the same amount that you have paid in those twelve months", explains Alexandra García, manager of Drisar Asesores.

But how long will it take to receive the refund? According to García, "when, for example, in January we have already completed the year, we can apply for this refund until March, because we have two months, after applying for it the Junta de Andalucía takes four months to reply and two more months for the payment to be made".

Direct subsidy

The second line of aid for the promotion of Self-Employment is aimed at those who are starting their activity. "You receive an economic subsidy directly, which obliges you to be registered for at least one year, and which distinguishes by gender and age", explains García.

That is:

a) Self-employed women under 35 years of age, the subsidy will be 5,000 euros.

b) Self-employed men under 30 years of age, the subsidy will be 5,000 euros.

c) Self-employed women aged 35 and over, the subsidy shall be 3,800 euros.

d) Self-employed men aged 30 and over, the subsidy will be 3,800 euros.

Drisar Asesores reminds us that we have two months from the registration period to apply for it. "You know that they are going to grant it for sure because the only requirement is that you are newly self-employed, they do not look at the income you have in your home, for example" and clarifies that "you must have been self-employed for a year, otherwise the subsidy will have to be returned".
