The group rehearses at the La Cala Branch Offices every Monday afternoon and the last Thursday of every month

The 'Coral Villa de Mijas' is looking for new voices for the 2024 season, preferably male, although, according to its president, Antonio Ordónez, "all are welcome and will contribute greatly to the group".

The Mijas choir is currently made up of 16 female and five male voices, classified into sopranos, altos and tenors. Rehearsals are held in the auditorium of the Branch Offices in La Cala, every Monday from 19:30 to 21:15 hours, and the last Thursday of each month from 19 to 21 hours.

The classes begin with different warm-up exercises to work on breathing and improve intonation. This is followed by a review of the themes, which vary depending on the time of year. In the last few weeks, for example, Christmas songs have been performed, but now the repertoire will change to popular songs and, in view of the coming Easter week, religious songs. Singing teacher Francesca Fesi is in charge of the musical direction of the Coral Villa de Mijas, in which the Mijas Town Hall also collaborates.

If you like classical music, are interested in this genre and want to join the group just call 617 731 985 or send an email to coromijas@gmail.com. You can also find more information on their social networks.
