San Francisco de Asís Handball Mijas continues to contribute quantity and quality to the various Andalusian teams that have participated in the Spanish Championship of Autonomous Selections that has been held in various Catalan towns over the past week. In the cadet category, Martina Negrón, Sofia and Ana Jaime, after missing out on the medals, have won the Spanish Cup, beating Asturias 27-23. In the semi-finals they beat Murcia 32-29.
In the children's category, the Andalusian team fell just short of the bronze medal, losing to Navarre by 21-20, in a final in which they received a partial 3-0. Two players from Mijas, Martina Fuentes and Aroa Beltrán, have participated in this team. In the semifinals, the team lost to Galicia by 20-25.
