All set for the arrival of the Three Wise Men

Mijas Comunicación will accompany the procession from the three centres with a live programme, which will start at 16:15 hours

The Three Wise Men will arrive in Mijas this Friday and will travel through the three centres of the municipality before spreading their magic and leaving presents for all the children. The parades will begin on the Plaza Virgen de la Peña in Mijas Pueblo, at half past four in the afternoon; on the Boulevard of La Cala, at five o'clock, and at the same time, at the Las Lagunas water park. 

270 children will take part in the procession of their Majesties of the East. Together they will hand out 8,000 kg of gluten-free sweets and distribute 5,000 bags of 'gusanitos', 1,200 candy bars and 2,000 balls and stuffed animals, among other toys. 

After each route, the Mijas Town Hall will invite to hot chocolate with "roscón de Reyes" on the Plaza Virgen de la Peña in Mijas Pueblo, at La Butibamba Park in La Cala and at María Zambrano Park in Las Lagunas. 

Official routes

The itinerary in Mijas Pueblo will start at Avenida Virgen de Peña and will continue along Avenida de Méjico, Malaga, Carril and Coín streets, to go through Barrio Santana up to Plaza de Los Siete Caños, where they will turn around to return along the streets of the neighbourhood up to Calle Coín and, from there, to Plaza de la Constitución, to continue to Avenida del Compás and finish at Plaza Virgen de la Peña.  

In La Cala de Mijas, the parade will start at 17:00 hours from the boulevard, in front of the cultural centre, down Calle Torremolinos to Calle Torreón, up Calle Marbella to Calle Cártama and finish at La Butibamba park.  

In Las Lagunas, the procession will leave from the water park and will go along San Cristóbal, San Bartolomé, San Javier, La Unión, Avenida de Mijas, Ford roundabout, Santa Laura and Santa Gema streets, Campanales road, Avenida de Mijas, Camino del Albero, Antonio Machado street and Miguel Hernández avenue, meeting Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar in María Zambrano park.  

The three parades will count with the collaboration of the associations of Mijas: Brotherhood Dulce Nombre de Jesús Nazareno, Brotherhood Santísimo Cristo de la Paz, Grupo Joven Virgen de la Peña, Brotherhood Jesús Vivo, Nuestra Señora de La Paz and Nuestra Señora de la Piedad, Asociación de Vecinos 1º de Mayo, Neighbourhood Association Nueva Laguna, Neighbourhood Association Puerto de Los Gatos, Cultural Association Mibu, Neighbourhood Association Calle Torremolinos, Neighbourhood Association Doña Ermita and the Malaga Cultural Association of Senegalese Immigrants (Acmis). 

The Kings on board a Mijas Fire Engine

Before the start of the official route of the parade in Las Lagunas, the Three Wise Men will be seen on board a Fire Engine of the Mijas Fire Brigade, which will pick up Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar at 15:45 hours from the Branch Offices and will make a tour of the following streets: Margarita street, Río de las Pasadas, Olivo street, Los Lirios avenue, Camino de Coín (at the height of the Local Police headquarters), Río Padrón street, Río Grande street, Río Guadalteba street, Río Guadalevín street, Azucena street, Camino de Coín towards Virgen de Fátima street and El Juncal to finish at the water park.

The parades, live

As always, Mijas Comunicación will also accompany the parades live, with a special programme, starting at 16:15 hours, with connections from the three centres. On the same Friday, from 22:30 hours, you will be able to watch this programme again and on Saturday at 10 in the morning.
