The Andalusian Regional Government has allocated 1.89 million euros to the reinforcement of the municipal Community Social Services of the municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants in the province of Malaga and the Provincial Council, of which 83,025 euros correspond to Mijas.

The Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) has published the agreement of December 5th, of the Governing Council, at the proposal of the Regional Ministry for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, by which the credits corresponding to the reinforcement of the Community Social Services for the development of responsibilities in the field of dependency are distributed.

The credits are distributed among the Town Halls of municipalities with a population of more than 20,000 inhabitants, as well as the Provincial Councils, and the expenses financed are destined for the personnel in charge of the management of the dependency service.

This reinforcement staff is responsible for providing information and guidance to interested parties on the procedures and conditions for accessing dependency care benefits, drawing up the social report and proposing the Individual Care Programme, both in the initial and review stages.

Services

The catalogue of care for dependency includes, among others, the home help service, residential care service, day centre or telecare, as well as economic benefits for care in the family environment, personal assistance or service-linked care.

The amount corresponding to Mijas will be paid by the Social Services and Dependency Agency of Andalusia from the Budget of this entity for the next financial year. This appropriation is linked to the development of the new Andalusian regulatory framework on dependency to be developed in 2024.
