The Mijas Association for the Disabled, Adimi, has received a donation from the International Rotary Club of Mijas. This group, made up of more than 30 members of 11 different nationalities, collaborates regularly with the association.

The gifts for Adimi have arrived in advance. The Rotary Club International has donated material to the Mijas association. These are two lifts for handling people with reduced mobility, a sofa, table and chairs and two armchairs to equip the waiting room of this centre. According to Adimi's manager, Laura Villa, "Rotary has once again remembered Adimi's needs and, in this case, it has been a donation in kind. Specifically, they have donated material for the mobilisation of users, two cranes, which are quite expensive and are practically new, and also other types of equipment for the residence. All this will improve the quality and comfort of the facilities to better serve the users". 

Christine Graf, a member of Rotary and spokesperson for the group, said that "we are a club with 30 members, and of those 30 members, there are eleven different nationalities. Our main mission is to help, we want to help people in need. That's why we organise a lot of parties and events to raise money. That money goes to help Adimi, which is a wonderful organisation. It is very important for us to help them. 

This collaboration between the Rotary Club and this group of young people has been going on for a long time, which always strengthens the ties between the different associations in Mijas. According to Villa, "this is not the first time they have collaborated with us. Last year, they also donated 3,000 euros to purchase computer equipment, especially tablets for communication, especially for users who have more problems with verbal communication and it was a very important help for us to invest in such materials, especially when one does not have sufficient resources. 

Rotary Club will be organising an upcoming fundraising event on Saturday the 16th. It will be a Christmas dinner to celebrate the festive season together.
