As if they were talking to each other, the paintings by Evelyn Rigaud and the ceramic pieces by FufuLène, on display at the Folk Museum since Thursday 7th, invite those who observe them to reflect on them. "We have created a dialogue between ceramics and painting, she has worked more from the point of view of the body and I have worked more from the point of view of criticism of society", explained Rigaud, who in her painting has tried to express various themes using "a lot of abstract" and criticising, for example, capitalism: "People started to use masks as a fashion accessory too, people said we are going to change everything, capitalism and all that, but in the end you had to wear a mask that connected with your clothes", explained Rigaud.
Fufuléne makes large-scale artistic ceramics and in this exhibition she has shown different things, from fountains with water to the human body. "These are things that we find difficult to represent and are not depicted much, things about the female body that are still taboo and that I want to put on the table so that we can talk about our bodies and our emotions in a more open way", said FufuLène, who among her works has included several related to menstruation, one of the taboo subjects in society.
This exhibition, which invites reflection on people's relationship with their bodies, their emotions and their identity, can be visited until January 7th. "The aim is to provoke and raise awareness about many collective aversions in order to rethink the society that we believe to be modern, liberal and in which we can all flourish freely", said the two women.
