Stalls selling T-shirts, honey, hot dogs, handmade biscuits and a magic school. All of this was on display at the Christmas bazaar at St. Anthony's English School in Mijas on Saturday 25th, which also had a very special melody, that of its choir, "made up of primary school pupils, who sang Christmas carols for us; and, obviously, we have the stalls, which offer all kinds of articles, we also have paella, sweets, drinks", explained the Head of Studies at the school, Natalia Quero.
From one to five o'clock in the afternoon, a large part of the educational community of this centre passed by with the aim of collaborating in the many activities organised by the school, most of them aimed at the youngest children, with which it tries to raise funds, which it uses to buy school materials or to set up other events. "We have mini-golf, an escape room, pony rides, a visit from Father Christmas, a big tombola... They have a great time, it's their day", added Quero.
This bazaar is practically as old as the school itself. Many families also participate in it in a private manner. We stopped at the stall run by Inmaculada Jiménez, who was offering polvorones, "I bring an assortment: mantecados, roscos de vino, chocolates and typical Christmas delicacies, sweet wine for one and a half euros with a homemade rosco".
We also spoke to one of the attendees, Esteban Fontclara, who told us that "this is the first year that we have come as parents of students, but we have come other years as friends of students".
With this event, St. Anthony's School welcomes Christmas and will continue to celebrate the festive season in many different ways.
