Agents of the National Police have dismantled an extremely violent criminal organisation that had carried out kidnappings, extortion, drug trafficking and robberies. In the operation, called Tánger, seven people have been arrested for the kidnapping of a businessman from Marbella who was extorted and demanded 5,000 euros per month. The victim, who was the complainant, had been kidnapped on two occasions and had been beaten, burned and threatened with firearms during his captivity.
The investigators proceeded to search five homes, located in Alhaurín de la Torre, Mijas, Benalmádena and Vélez-Málaga, where they seized 22 kilograms of marijuana, 5.93 kilograms of hashish, two vehicles, several stolen number plates, a revolver, a pistol and a pistol pen, among other effects. Seven men, aged between 29 and 50 years old, were arrested for their alleged involvement in the events. Those arrested were handed over to the corresponding judicial authority and charged with the crimes of kidnapping, injury, membership of a criminal organisation, drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.
