This Tuesday we visited the Colombian restaurant Arka, which is participating for the first time in the 'Ruta de la Tapa de Las Lagunas 'with a typical Colombian empanada. The proposal, for the moment, is quite popular, says the owner, Andrés Felipe Sánchez, "in fact there are days when we have served up to a hundred tapas, especially on Saturdays". This is an initiative, according to the establishment, "which is turning out to be great, and these last few weeks we have noticed that sales have gone up a lot and many new people have come".
As for the tapa of empanada offered for the occasion, Sánchez points out that "it is made of corn, we fry it and inside it has potatoes and beef, although we have also prepared another one with chicken as a second option, because there are customers who repeat the tapa".
The Arka restaurant is located in Calle Madreselva, next to Fernán Caballero Park, and this month marks its first year of activity in Las Lagunas, so this gastronomic route also helps them to make themselves known. "We are the only Colombian and Latin bar in the area, and we offer a totally different product, so we invite people to get to know us, try our tapa and also our menu, where we include grilled meat", encouraged the owner, also informing that the business "is open every day and our kitchen does not close".
The Las Lagunas Tapas Route will continue until December 2nd, every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, both at midday and in the afternoon and evening. Ten bars and restaurants in the town, as well as a bakery, are taking part, offering tapas and drinks, or sweet pastries, for three euros.
