Emergencies 112 reports that the incident occurred minutes before 5:30 am in a house in urbanization Hacienda Mijas Golf. The fire originated in the kitchen and, according to neighbours, the fire had been extinguished with an extinguisher, although there was a lot of smoke in the house. The 112 emergency services activated the Mijas Fire Brigade, the local police, the Guardia Civil and the health services of the Regional Government, who sent an emergency team to the scene. The elderly inhabitant of the house was treated by the health services and evacuated to the Hospital Costa del Sol for evaluation.
