On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of its foundation, the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's and other Dementias of Mijas (AFA Mijas) opens on Friday 6th of October, at 20:00 hours, at the Folk Museum in Mijas Pueblo, a photographic exhibition in which they review their two decades of history helping the residents of the town. Everyone is invited to this inauguration, for which the association has organised a performance by Marc Montijano. The exhibition can be visited free of charge until October 20th.
As the president of AFA Mijas, María Rosario Cabello, and the psychologist and director of the day centre, Mari Carmen López, recalled, this is an initiative that aims to raise awareness and inform about Alzheimer's disease, what it entails and its consequences. In short, an exhibition that tries to recover the memory of an association that for 20 years has been working precisely for that, trying to mitigate the ravages of a disease that takes away the memory of those who suffer from it.
On the other hand, on Saturday, the youth association Mibu is holding an activity at its headquarters, at the Employment Promotion building. The fact that robotics has a bright future ahead is clear to all today and, for this reason, the group has organised a free workshop under the suggestive title of 'EduRoboAventura: a unique robotic adventure'.
Its creators promise an experience that combines the fun of a labyrinth with the excitement of robotics. From 17:00 to 21:00, the association is offering this workshop in which robots and high-tech equipment will be used, and expert robotics instructors will be on hand. The goal is for participants to develop their problem-solving skills, critical thinking and creativity while having fun.
