The Mijas Fair kicked off last night with the traditional inauguration of the artistic lighting

Six days of entertainment, music and traditions, with thousands of people expected to flock to the village. In order to facilitate access to the historic centre, the Urban Mobility Department has reinforced the shuttle bus service during these days.

"On the 5th and 6th it will maintain its usual timetable from 12 noon to 1am, but from the 7th to 10th of September, when concerts are scheduled in the municipal booth and also the procession of our patron saint, the Virgen de la Peña, we have extended its usual timetable until 3am", clarified the councillor for Urban Mobility, Natalia Martínez (PSOE), adding that this free service that connects the El Puerto Quarry with the old town "will have two buses that will operate non-stop so that the service will be continuous".

On the other hand, at the request of Urban Mobility, the Malaga Area Metropolitan Transport Consortium is going to reinforce the M-122 line, which connects Fuengirola and Mijas. Thus, the last departure from Mijas Pueblo will be at 02:30 hours and a special stop is scheduled to be set up at the Ford roundabout from 19:00 hours. "This has been requested by the people who live in Las Lagunas, which is why we have asked the Consortium to include a stop at the Ford roundabout during these days so that they do not have to travel to the Mijas road, where the nearest stop is located", adds Martínez.
