Everything is ready to welcome one of the most awaited musical events of the summer period, the Cala Mijas festival, whose second edition will take place from August 31st to September 2nd with a line-up made up of top international and national bands such as Florence + The Machine, The Strokes, Arcade Fire, M83, Underworld, Lori Meyers, José González, Amaia, Cala Vento, among others.
"Once again this year, the festival starts its countdown under a wide range of mobility, security, cleaning and transport measures coordinated between the Mijas Town Hall and the promoter of the event, Last Tour. Every detail has been taken care of so that the thousands of people we expect to welcome these days at the Sonora Mijas venue only have to worry about enjoying the best music in a unique enclave such as La Cala de Mijas", says the mayor, Josele González. For her part, the councillor for Festivities, Tamara Vera, stressed that "it will be three days where La Cala will once again be the epicentre of the best music. A unique offer that positions us as a reference within the festival circuit in Spain and that has expanded the brand Mijas beyond our borders. In this edition, we have worked tirelessly to further improve the services we offer both inside and outside the Sonora Venue". The festival's communications director, Eva Castillo, expressed the same opinion, saying that they are "very excited about this edition, with some changes that are sure to surprise and improve this year's experience".
In its second edition, the music at Cala Mijas will be presented on 6 stages, 4 located at the Sonora Mijas site and 2 at the Torreón de La Cala. The opening of the doors of the festival site, Sonora Mijas, will be every day at 17:00 hours while the programming on The Beach will take place on Friday and Saturday from 12:00 to 16:30 hours with free access for all.

Security
The security of the festival will be reinforced with a special device coordinated between the Mijas Police and the festival security staff, to guarantee the well-being of the people attending. both inside the festival site and in its surroundings. The Organization will control the accesses and the perimeter of the festival will be monitored and coordinated with the Municipal Police and Guardia Civil to avoid criminal acts and altercations and will also pay special attention to fraudulent sales and the road safety of those attending the festival.
