Infoca and the Mijas Fire Brigade have brought the fire that had originated in the Entrerríos area near the El Dorado Equestrian Club under control. At 20:00 hours on Thursday 24th of August, the Mijas Fire Brigade received notice of this fire and quickly set up an operation which, as reported by the chief corporal of the Mijas Fire Brigade, Rubén Cortés, "included the Mijas Fire Brigade, Local Police, Civil Guard and Infoca".

Two helicopters, several Infoca fire units, two Mijas Fire brigades (the one that remains on duty plus the special unit that has been activated during the summer months), three Local Police patrols, two Civil Guard patrols, plus the municipality's support water tanks were deployed to the scene.

The fire has covered a burnt area of approximately one hectare enclosed by roads which, together with the lack of wind, has facilitated its control. "We have attacked the flanks until we reached the front of the fire to stop it", said Cortés.

The Mijas Fire Brigade is currently working in the area to refresh the zone. The causes of the fire are not known at the moment, and the investigation remains open.
