The second great full moon of this summer is expected on the 31st of August, two days before the celebration of the already famous full moon equestrian route. On the 2nd of September, riding enthusiasts will be able to enjoy this event among friends. "We will leave the El Esparragal park at around 17:30 and then we will ride through different parts of the mountains and areas of El Chaparral. Afterwards we will return to the meeting point, where we will enjoy an aperitif and we will also have a flamenco dance floor from 22:00", explained the treasurer of the 'Peña Caballista de Mijas', Florencio Medina. Participants will also be able to enjoy drinks and food.

For yet another year, the Mijas Town Hall is backing this project which is so well received in the world of horses in Mijas. "From the area for Economic Development, and more specifically from the delegation for Livestock, we support the 'Peña' (Club) because of the importance of this activity, not only for the enjoyment and significance, but also for the relevance of the equine sector in our municipality". said the councillor for Livestock, Juan Carlos Maldonado (PMP), who added that "Mijas is one of the municipalities with the largest equine census in Andalusia and, therefore, very likely to generate a lot of economic activity.

An industry around this sector that we, at the Town Hall, want to promote because, not in vain, it has always been emblematic in Mijas for the world of horses and has a good chance of becoming a reference, even at international level".

The Mijas Riders' Club is in charge of organising this route in which flamenco will put the finishing touch to a route in which there will be several stops along the way to enjoy the scenery. "We love to collaborate with the Town Hall. We at the 'peña' are already almost 200 members and in Mijas the world of horses is very important and we want to continue to promote it", added Medina.

If you are interested in participating you can confirm your attendance with the Peña Caballistas de Mijas on 615 01 88 43.
