The Danish Club in Mijas and the Mijas Town Hall continue to help the Ukrainian families who have arrived in the municipality, refugees fleeing the war in their country. The selection of the families is carried out through the Department for Social Inclusion of Mijas. This time the help came from the fundraising of the 'Club Danés', whose headquarters are located in urbanisation Haza del Algarrobo. "Thanks to the efforts of the Mijas Town Hall we selected a family and have given them a 400 euro card", said Anette Skou, member of the Danish Club in Mijas, on Wednesday. 

This is not the first time that this club, made up of Danes living in the municipality, has shown solidarity. "We have been collecting money among the members for a year now and every time there is an activity, we ask our members if they want to collaborate", Skou pointed out. 

Around 200 members collaborate with this collective, which is already looking for new families to help, although they will resume their activities in autumn, "after the summer, because the residents return to their country during these months in search of a milder climate". In this regard, Skou said that "from September there are musical activities, singers from Denmark come to perform and we have a great restaurant here with Danish food". In all these activities they take the opportunity to raise funds, always with the same aim, to help families in need in Malaga and Mijas.
