La Cala Fair starts Wednesday 26th with Children's Day and the election of kings & queens

  • The parade of giants and big-heads will announce the start of the fiestas at 19:30 and at 22:00 the artistic lighting will be inaugurated
  • The 'Feria de La Cala' is inaugurated with Children's Day

Children and young people interested in taking part in the parade can register on the same day at the Cultural Centre of La Cala from 19.00 hours

The La Cala 2023 Fair will start tomorrow, Wednesday 26th of July, at 19.30 hours, with the traditional parade of giants and big-heads, which will go through the main streets of the seaside town announcing the beginning of the festivities. Children and youths interested in taking part in the parade can register on the same day at the Cultural Centre in La Cala from 19.00 hours. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis until all available places are filled. On this day, it will also be Children's Day, with rides and attractions priced at 2 euros. In addition, from 19:30 to 21:00 hours, music will be cancelled throughout the fairground to avoid noise disturbance for children with special needs. At 21:30, the Open University dance groups taught by Feli Gabriel, Víctor Rojas and Juan Jesús Leiva will dance at the municipal booth.

The local authorities will inaugurate the fairground at 22:00 hours with the traditional switching on of the artistic lighting and then, at 23:30 hours, with the contest to choose the king, queen, ladies and companions, the La Cala 2023 Fair will begin. Admission to the municipal booth will be free until full capacity is reached.
