In these general elections, probably due to the date chosen, postal voting has registered an increase that the national Post Office "Correos" has described as historic. The entity has admitted a total of 2,471,935 postal votes for this 23J. The votes cast represent 94.2% of the applications admitted, the highest ratio achieved in general elections since 2008, the first year with standardised statistical records, marking the historical record in Spanish democracy. Specifically, it represents 99.08% more than the total number of votes admitted in the general elections held in April 2019 (1,241,716) and 82.06% more than those registered in the corresponding process held in June 2016 (1,357,745) which, until now, set the record for the number of postal votes managed in the electoral processes of democracy in Spain. As for the province of Malaga, the number of postal votes admitted amounted to a total of 48,204.
