The Councillor for Urban Mobility of the the Mijas Town Hall, Natalia Martínez (PSOE), has shown her support for the taxi drivers of the municipality integrated in the Confederation of Taxis of the Costa del Sol, after the announcement of AENA, the entity that manages the Malaga airport, limiting the number of places for taxis that perform pre-contracted services to 15.
"The taxi collective is a very important sector for tourism in Mijas and the Costa del Sol in general, which is why we want to show from this public institution all our support to the workers who operate in our municipality", added Martínez.
For its part, according to the Town Hall, the confederation considers this measure to be "discriminatory treatment" because in order to offer "this quality service to the client, which we consider absolutely necessary, only 15 places cannot be established for taxis to carry out this type of service, as the volume of taxis that are going to pick up passengers daily with pre-contracted services is much higher than the places that are going to be made available to us".
