Yesterday, Sunday, was the last day of the Feria de Las Lagunas. The festivities were the first of this summer in the municipality and were celebrated in style with activities for all audiences. From the morning, locals and visitors alike were able to enjoy the threshing exhibition at the Cortijo Don Elías. A trade of yesteryear that, as every year, is once again the protagonist during this day. With it we look back to remember the field work that was done until the fifties to separate the grain from the chaff. All this was accompanied by traditional singing and dancing by Paco Lavado and Francisco Rodríguez, Diego Morilla on guitar and the Panda de Verdiales Primera del Puerto de la Torre. After this the party continued with performances by the groups Rompeolas, Fitflamc with Eva Sedeño and a live concert by Eva Sedeño herself with her partner Gemma Sánchez.
The two concerts of the evening fair in the municipal stand put the finishing touch to the festivities. The first to take to the stage were the members of the group Las Migas. This all-female musical quartet, winner of a Latin Grammy in 2022 for Best Flamenco Album, showed off all their art and talent on stage in front of a full house that sang along to their songs. Finally, and to close the fair, El Canijo de Jerez performed his Andalusian pop rock with some of his best known songs such as 'Hola buenos días' and 'La primavera trompetera'. This was the end of five days of festivities in the centre of Las Lagunas, during which music, dance, attractions and shows have been enjoyed.
