From 3rd to 14th of July, local children and all those who speak Spanish, between 6 and 14 can pick up the booklets in the libraries and participate

The Mijas Town Hall has once again launched its reading campaign 'En verano no pases de la lectura', now in its twenty-first year. The Councillor for Culture, Verónica Ensberg (PSOE), explained that the objective "is to actively involve children" in reading; hence the promotion of this initiative aimed at 6 to 14 year olds, which is rewarded with a day of fun at the Idiliq Group Resort.

"We want to promote libraries as an engine to encourage reading and that children like reading more and more", explained the councillor. In order to get them to plunge into reading this summer, booklets have been designed to be filled in by the little readers, which they can pick up from Monday 3rd to 14th of July at any of the four municipal libraries in Mijas. The theme of these reading journals will be the Mijas Selfie Route, "with which they will have the opportunity to get to know the beautiful places we have in the village, take a photograph and put it in the notebook, as well as a summary adapted to their age of 12 different books", added the councillor.
