The Local Police in Mijas arrested a man last week after receiving a call at their operational base alerting of the suspicious behaviour of a man allegedly trying to steal belongings from bathers at Calahonda beach, so they requested the presence of agents of the Citizen Unit (SIMA), who when arriving at the scene observed an individual with similar characteristics to those of the report who was taking advantage of the carelessness of the bathers to steal their belongings. 

After becoming aware of the presence of the agents, the man tried to flee on foot but was finally intercepted in nearby areas. Once apprehended, he was immediately arrested on suspicion of theft. The agents informed him of his rights and carried out the criminal proceedings against him, being transferred, finally, to the premises of the Guardia Civil for his later transfer to judicial custody.
