From ten minutes before, that is to say, from 11:50 a.m., we will be live to follow this plenary session in which the mayor of Mijas will be invested. We remind you that, due to the constitution of the municipal corporation, the newspaper 'Mijas Weekly' has not been published this Friday, as it normally is. You will find it at the usual distribution points on Monday 19th of June in order for us to also report on this event. The digital version of the newspaper will be available on Sunday 18th on the website mijascomunicacion.com.  

Mijas arrives at the day of the constitution of the corporation with a programmatic pact for the next mandate signed by the representatives of the PSOE, Josele González; Cs, José Carlos Martín, and Por Mi Pueblo, Juan Carlos Maldonado, which gives the mayor's office to González. In the last elections on 28M, the socialists were the most voted force with 10 councillors, Cs obtained 2 and PMP, 1. Among the three parties they have 13 councillors, which gives them an absolute majority. When this agreement was made public, the candidate for the Partido Popular, Ángel Nozal, who obtained 9 councillors in the elections, informed his provincial party leadership that he was leaving politics and that he would not take his seat as councillor in the constituent plenary session.
