The M-122 line, connecting Fuengirola-Mijas, will also be reinforced

June 15th will be the date when the shuttle bus will start running again in Mijas Pueblo. This was announced on Tuesday by the Councillor for Transport and Mobility, Nicolás Cruz (PSOE), who also announced a reinforcement of the M-122 line, which connects Fuengirola with Mijas, in preparation for the celebration of Latin Night on Saturday the 17th of June.

"This free shuttle bus service, which connects the El Puerto quarry with the centre of Mijas Pueblo, will start again on the 15th of June, from 12am to 1am uninterruptedly", said Cruz, who stressed that for the Latin Night, which will take place on Saturday 17th, on the Plaza Virgen de la Peña, "we will extend the service until 2am".

"We will also implement this service for other theme nights such as the Blues and Celtic Nights, and we will take this into account on days when there is a large influx of tourists during the summer period. When there is greater demand, this reinforced timetable will be complemented with a new bus service", adds Cruz, all to guarantee "access to our town in a comfortable and efficient manner when the Virgen de la Peña car park is full".

Reinforcement of the M-122 line

With a view to the celebration of the Latin Night, the Department for Transport and Mobility has also announced the reinforcement of the M-122 line with six more trips, "with its last departure from Mijas Pueblo at 02:30, so that all those who come up to Mijas Pueblo can enjoy the event until late", concludes Cruz.

The special timetables for the M-122 line, which connects Fuengirola and Mijas, can now be consulted on the website of the Malaga Area Metropolitan Transport Consortium, by calling 955 038 665 or via the consortium's mobile app.

The Latin Night will be held on Saturday 17th of June, from 7pm, on the Plaza Virgen de la Peña, with live performances by Richardson y Son Bachata, Yailo Beltrán y los Fuera de Serie, Clave Latina and Andrés Pino y su orquesta. Admission is free.
