The Rotary Club Mijas International, an organisation that works to focus companies on humanitarian causes and which operates on the Costa del Sol, has made a donation to support the charity work of the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients (AFA Mijas). In a visit to its headquarters in Mijas Pueblo, Rotary officials have assured that this donation, amounting to 1,500 euros, is the beginning of a collaboration that will be extended over time.

The director of the Rotary committee of associations and NGOs, Katja Range, said that this initiative arose because "in the committee we thought it would be interesting to know more about the associations around Mijas and for this we visited AFA and, to be honest, their work seemed tremendous: very good, very interesting, and we wanted to support them through part of the money that we as Rotary Club Mijas International have raised this year".

For her part, the president of the club, Christine Graf, recalled: "we are always looking to help local causes, firstly for Mijas and our neighbours, and as Katja proposed AFA Mijas to us, we did not hesitate to get involved. This is one of the many projects we support".

Any support to AFA Mijas is welcome because it gives continuity to a project that for many years has been helping the elderly people of Mijas and their families. In this regard, for the president of AFA Mijas, María Rosario Cabello, said that "any help is very important to us, and especially as they assure that it will be maintained over time, because in addition to being able to continue offering breakfasts, we can maintain the physiotherapy service and a nurse, which are two very important services within our association".

This unconditional and selfless support from AFA Mijas has moved the leaders of the Mijas Rotary Club. "We find it incredible that they are working so hard", remarked Katja Range, visibly moved, "but also the way they do it, because they are doing it with love; to see how people work here and take care of the elderly with so much patience and care... Of course we had to support a cause like this".
