Three endless days, more than 60 artists and the Costa del Sol as witness to the second edition of the international festival Cala Mijas. For the second year in a row, the municipality will once again host this music event on 31st of August and 1st and 2nd of September, bringing together audiences from all corners of the globe.

Today, Cala Mijas is once again setting all eyes on its line-up with two important additions on Friday 1st of September: M83 and Underworld. On the one hand, the enigmatic French multi-instrumentalists M83 with their dreamy synth-pop and their hits 'Midnight City' and 'Outro' and, on the other, the legendary British electronic duo Underworld, author of timeless hits such as 'Born Slippy', the main theme of Danny Boyle's film 'Trainspotting', and responsible for the soundtrack of the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, who will visit the Sonora Mijas venue to celebrate the importance of keeping the flame of dance music alive. In addition, British Baxter Dury, regular collaborator with Jarvis Cocker or The White Stripes, will visit Cala Mijas with his characteristic class presenting his new album 'I Thought I Was Better Than You' on the first day of the festival.

"The line-up of Cala Mijas adds three top artists that will surely please the attendees of this festival that, with only one edition, has exceeded all our expectations with national and international awards that support all the work done by both the Mijas Town Hall and the promoter Last Tour", says the mayor of Mijas, Josele González, who adds that "we are looking forward to the 31st of August, 1st and 2nd of September to turn Mijas into the epicentre of music again".

For her part, the councillor for Festivities, Tamara Vera (PSOE), stressed that these new additions "do not lower the bar with a list of artists to suit all tastes and where there is also room for names from Málaga". The councillor for Youth at the Mijas Town Hall also reminded local youths that "those who have the European Youth Card can benefit from a 35% discount on tickets. To obtain their discount voucher, they should go to the official website of the card".

For reasons unrelated to the festival, the Town Hall informs of the cancellation of the performances of Lil Yachty and Slowthai. But this is not over, the daytime programme of the festival is still to be announced. Day tickets are still on sale at the festival website (calamijas.com) and at seetickets.com/en, with the possibility of payment in installments and access to the campsite.
