Music and dance rhythms, especially salsa and bachateros, will be the main ingredients of the evening with which we will practically welcome the summer in Mijas: the Latin Night. On Tuesday, the Tourism Department presented all the details of this event, which will be held on Saturday 17th of June. "Last year it was a great success and this year with the artists it will be another success. It will start at 19:00 hours, on the Plaza Virgen de la Peña and, how can it be otherwise, I encourage everyone who can to come, because they will not only enjoy the Latin Night, but also our town, in this case, Mijas Pueblo, gastronomy, heritage ...", explained the councillor for Tourism and first deputy mayor, José Carlos Martín (Cs).
Producciones Raíces is collaborating with the organisation, which has put together a line-up with artists such as Richardson y Son Bachata; Yailo Beltrán y los Fuera de Serie; Clave Latina, and Andrés Pino y su orquesta, in fact the essence of the show is recovered with live performances by the groups. "It's a night for all audiences, for those who like to dance and for those who don't... who also participate. We try to make shows interactive with people, so that they can participate, dance, have a good time, in short. We want it to be a space for leisure and enjoyment, for multicultural coexistence", said the director of Producciones Raíces, Rafael Urquiza, during the presentation.
Tourism organises this event, which was resumed last year after several years without being held, with the aim of revitalising the town and promoting Mijas as a destination, "it is true that on that day they come just to see the performances of the Latin Night, but they are hooked by how beautiful Mijas is and they come back. That's our mission, in a way to create loyalty among the tourists who are on the Costa del Sol so that they come back to Mijas for the Noche Latina or other events that we will be holding later in the summer", explained Juan Carlos Acevedo, the head of the Mijas Tourist Office.
The Noche Latina 2023 promises a great show this year, on Saturday 17th of June, from 19:00 hours, "we will finish the 'Noche Latina' in Mijas with a great 'jam session' of Latin musicians on stage, don't miss it", said Urquiza, who added that "what we need is to start the summer with good vibes, good energy and where better than in Mijas Pueblo". The event is completely free of charge.
