Soroptimist International Costa del Sol has organised a charity dinner for Saturday 17th of June at the Green Label restaurant, located at Chaparral Golf. The vice-president of the group, Anette Skou, explained that, "with this initiative, the group wants to raise funds to be able to develop the projects they have in Mijas", among them, to help victims of gender violence. They also help families in need with food through the Red Cross and Social Services, as these reach the Municipal Food Bank and not only with products that have a long shelf life, but also with fresh produce such as fruit, vegetables and eggs. Another initiative carried out by the group in the town is the sponsorship of the Mijas Union Basket mini-female basketball team, added Skou, who also said that they help the association Nueva Cultura del Desarrollo and cover the expenses of young university students. 

The charity dinner, which will start at 19:30 hours, will be enlivened by the performances of Pop Academia Fama and singer Laura Carter, "very well known on the Costa del Sol", said Skou. The event will cost 55 euros which, in addition to a welcome glass of cava, a full menu and drinks during dinner, includes a donation of 10 euros for the group. Skou reminds us that Soroptimist International Costa del Sol is a 15 year old collective made up of more than twenty women who dedicate their free time to helping others. "This is the most important event we are holding after the pandemic and we hope that we can count on the support of many people. Together we can help more people", she explains.
