Operational Services concludes the work to replace the pavements and remove the architectural barriers

The plan to renovate the old pavement of the streets of the municipality carried out by the Department for Operational Services of the Mijas Town Hall this week concluded its work on Estornino street in Las Cañadas, “in which work has been carried out on about 600 square metres and the pavement has been renewed with more consistent flooring, in line with the pavements we have in the rest of the municipality, architectural barriers have been removed to facilitate the passage of persons with reduced mobility and the street lighting network has also been renewed”, said the councillor responsible for the area, José Carlos Martín (Cs), on Wednesday 3rd of May. The works have had an execution period of two months and an investment of 65,000 euros and are part of the maintenance and conservation plan for the streets of the municipality, which is being carried out in different areas at the same time and according to the councillor, is still ongoing, as “we are working in El Albero, although we are going to stop there for a while as we will carry out other projects in El Hornillo, where we will create points to place containers. Once we finish this work, we will return to other areas of Las Lagunas, La Cala and Mijas Pueblo, where we still have points where improvements such as these can be made”. The councillor, as always, apologised to the residents for the inconvenience caused by the works, “which is not too bad in this case as they do not entail a complete renovation”.
