24 associations met at the TRH Mijas Hotel to get to know each other and establish future collaborations

Groups with different social objectives came together at this meeting organised by the Department of Foreigners of Mijas Town Hall  on Wednesday. This activity has been restarted after the pandemic and seeks to strengthen ties between them. “They are going to introduce themselves, explain their work here in Mijas and make their objective as an association known and then they will be able to share all this information and exchange contacts, which is the main purpose of this ‘networking’,” said the councillor for the department, Arancha López (Cs), who added that “I am very familiar with the fabulous task that these associations carry out and it is essential that they collaborate with each other and if we serve as a link, it is very gratifying that we can contribute and support them in this way”. The event was attended by associations, mostly with social aims, such as Age Care, the Lions Club of La Cala, Soroptimist International, Donkey Dreamland or Dogs in Malaga in Need, but also companies such as My Lawyer in Spain, Compare Funerals and PCC. “Bringing together many international associations, which face the same challenges, not only regarding membership, where some find it easy to attract members and others difficult, but exchanging ideas, getting to know each other, and talking about experiences, I think it’s great”, said Alex Radford, lawyer at My Lawyer in Spain. For her part, the president of the AECC for Mijas and Fuengirola, Paula Casas, said that “there are many foreigners who need us. We want them to know aboutall the services we offer from the association such as home service, patient transfers, consultations, cancer treatments, among others”.  Participating groups AECC, Age Care, Age Concern, AHN, Association of Food for those most in need in Mijas and Malaga, FAMA Association, BBF, Brexpats in Spain, Business 1st, Costa Women, Danish Club, Diksha-Asociación Folklorico de Andalucia, Dogs in Malaga in Need, Donkey Dreamland, Dutch Club, Mijas Felina, La Cala Diabetes Support Group, Lions Club La Cala de Mijas, Los Amigos de Mijas-Mijas International Rotary Club, Royal British Legion, Sisterlodge Nº1 and Soroptimist International.
