In addition to providing information about the work they carry out, these social groups from the municipality also put items on sale to raise funds. “The solidarity stands began with the help of the Department for Foreigners so that these groups could continue with their solidarity work during the pandemic, which was a very complicated situation, and so this initiative was launched”, said the councillor in charge of the area, Arancha López (Cs). The stands are installed in the morning (11:00 to 14:00 hours) on the Branch Office Square in La Cala. They are associations and groups that need our help to continue with their solidarity work. By browsing through these stalls, we can find all kinds of second-hand items or even have a glucose test. “We are connected with the Lions Club, to support diabetics and are here to help citizens to get their blood sugar tested”, said Mercy Chapman from the Lions Club of La Cala.
Animal welfare and other social associations remind us of the importance of our collaboration. This Saturday 29th they will be waiting for us again to meet them and to lend them a hand.
