Last Friday 31st the exhibition by Maite Ruiz, ‘Faces, The Magic of Colour’, was inaugurated and can be visited until the 30th of April at the Mijas Pueblo Tourist Office. “On this occasion we will also be open in the evening, as we are now entering the Easter period before the summer and will be open until seven o’clock”, said the councillor for Tourism, José Carlos Martín (Cs). The faces created by the artist are covered with colour,  highlighting all the most important elements, lips, nose, eyes... which bring them to life and express feelings. Her love of painting and her curiosity to learn have led to wonderful works, as seen in this expo, with fluid acrylic backgrounds, this being her second ‘solo’ exhibition.

The result is soft textures, natural light and bright colours. “I liked everything when I arrived to Mijas, the climate, the people... and I settled here, I have been here for more than half of my life, I am self-taught and I love it and I always paint with acrylics because I am very quick; I don’t like oil painting which is slower, you need more serenity and calm to work with it”, Maite pointed out.
